“Cancer care brilliantly reimagined”

We aim to offer people affected by cancer a way of reconnecting with themselves and living well through the power of regular cold-water immersion, fun and a community who understand them.

A cancer diagnosis is lifechanging and often traumatic. As more and more people are diagnosed, finding powerful responses to support way of recovering from or living well with cancer is urgent.

Into the Blue is a two-part intervention. Participants undertake an eight-week course to build skills, confidence and friendships through regular cold water immersion with the support of the team, then can join The Whole Shoal, our unique cancer specific community of swimmers. This means they continue to have the opportunity to swim regularly with others who understand what it means to have a diagnosis of cancer.

A culture of kindness, acceptance and fun sit at the heart of Into the Blue. The combination of emotional, physical and peer support allow our participants to meet the challenge of showing up and getting into cold water in all sorts of weathers, then experiencing the uplift, success and bonding that naturally happens.

We welcome anyone who has received a diagnosis of cancer that would benefit from our courses, and work to remove any barriers to participating. This includes equipment, travel, and confidence. Whatever is in the way, we work with you to ensure you can take part.
